I felt quite emotional looking back through these photographs recently. It was the last wedding I photographed before the lockdown at the end of February and only a few weeks before weddings, meeting up with your family and friends and all those other normal things we perhaps took for granted stopped.
I have really enjoyed getting to know Izzy and Sam over the last year or so and knew how much they were looking forward to their big day. I think you can see what a great atmosphere there was with lots of funny moments and Izzy and Sam’s two dogs very much part of the day as well. As a fellow dog person I loved it and particularly liked that one of them felt comfortable enough to have a doze on Izzy’s dress during the ceremony!
Of course weddings ultimately are about a celebration of togetherness and there are lots of different moments of people spending time together throughout a wedding day; in the morning, getting ready perhaps with a few close friends and family, with your husband or wife, with your friends and wider family, conversations, laughter and a sense of connection with those around you. I feel really lucky, now more than ever, that my work involves documenting all those moments and celebrating them. I hope you enjoy looking through some of my favourite moments from their day.
Ps A little shout out to the lovely Daisy Bodkin who made the delicious cake! https://bodkinbakes.co.uk/daisy-2/
