So the Winter months are usually quieter for wedding photographers and usually by the Spring (as well as dusting off my gardening things and enjoying the warmer days!) it’s exciting to be at the start of another wedding season. A few weeks back I photographed Gemma and Peter’s wedding at Priston Mill near Bath. I headed over to Gemma and the girls first thing. They were staying in a beautiful house nearby (What did we all do before Air BnB?). As well as hairdressing, make up and all the fun of dresses, shoes and gorgeous outfits, there were laughs, a few tears and several mums on hand to make sure everyone got fed!
Over at Priston Peter was greeting guests and making some final preparations including, I was impressed to find out, lugging quite a lot of wood upstairs to make the lovely table centres! Gemma and Peter had chosen a watery theme with a really pretty boat for their table plan and even icing figures of them on a fishing boat on top of their cake. Being married to a fellow fisherman I could understand this…!
During the ceremony Gemma’s Grandfather read a poem to the couple that Gemma herself had written which I loved and found really moving. Afterwards, we had some drinks and pictures in the garden and guests had a lot of fun taking pictures with the Scottish and English rugby ‘mascots’ outside the front door of the mill and Gemma and Peter had a wander around the grounds. Part II coming soon…..!
