A couple of weeks back, I photographed Laura and Tom’s wedding in Wapley Church and Tortworth Court. I knew some of the family already from shooting Tom’s Sister Sarah and Ben’s wedding a few years back, so it was lovely to see some familiar faces. The girls were busy getting ready at Laura and Tom’s house when I arrived and I admired the lovely sunflower bouquets; a fabulous choice for a Summer wedding and really nice against their navy dresses. In between everyone doing their make up, Laura’s Mum was very organised with M and S sandwiches, so no one went hungry!
I know Wapley church quite well, having photographed a few weddings there and have always thought it is an idyllic spot, tucked away from all the hustle and bustle. Laura and Tom had decorated the outside with sunflowers as well to match the girls’ flowers and Tom and his Best Man Dan were having fun with their top hats.
There were a few tears during the ceremony (including nearly from me!) and then afterwards we did a few family pictures in the churchyard before heading over to Tortworth Court. The sun was shining and guests enjoyed Kir Royals and canapés on the lawn. I was thinking how lucky they were to have such a nice day as this Summer has been so hit and miss weather wise and there’s nothing like a glass of bubbles in the sunshine!
Dinner was served in the Orangery, which is a beautiful light room for photographing in with an amazing ceiling. Then the speeches, which are a favourite time of a wedding day for me, resulted in a few more tears and lots of laughs. Here are some of my favourite images from their day:
