I had a fantastic day at Laura and Stuart’s wedding at Orchardleigh; I was even chuckling to myself when I was editing their images as there were so many great moments and a lot of laughs. I started with the girls up in the Bridal Suite, which has a lovely view overlooking the valley. Every time I go to Orchardleigh I think what an amazing family house it must have been years ago. Laura and the girls were having their hair and make up done and it promised to be a lovely sunny day. They had pretty amazing bridesmaids dresses with straps that could be tied a number of different ways and I hadn’t seen these before. It was really nice that they could all look slightly different while wearing the same dress.
Downstairs, Stuart and the boys got their button holes on and were doing the last few preparations. Laura and Stuart had arranged for a buss to take everyone down to the church, which is only just in the village outside the Estate so I followed them down there and enjoyed watching everyone chatting and the children playing in the churchyard. The ceremony was a beautiful traditional wedding service and as Laura and Stuart left the churchyard they were showered with confetti.
At Orchardleigh guests spread out with their drinks on the lawns to enjoy the lovely setting and the children loved the garden games. A jazz band provided a real garden party atmosphere; I always think some live music makes a real difference to a drinks reception. Soon it was time for dinner and, after a delicious meal, we had some very funny speeches and a specially choreographed first dance which was pretty impressive! Here are some of my favourite images from their day:
