This year Halloween didn’t just mean carving pumpkins and buying lots of chocolate for me; I had a wonderful time on Friday afternoon photographing Carolyn and Phil’s wedding at Street Baptist Church. Beforehand, as Carolyn was getting ready at Charlton House, I headed over there and found some last minute decorating going on in the Orangery and some very tempting chocolate cakes being set out! The room looked amazing and I couldn’t wait to see it all lit up later on.
Carolyn is very creative and had made a lot of the little details including her own fabric and jewel bouquets, so upstairs she had some time for her to get ready and I admired all those lovely personal touches she had made.
Carolyn and Phil had decided to get married in their own church so when I arrived in Street, there was a great atmosphere as everyone including the vicar and musicians knew the couple. During the service, they both looked on cloud 9 and I had my first wedding couple selfie part way through which was a very funny moment!
As it was so nice, we had some time for a few photos outside before everyone had tea and cake next door in the church hall – a very civilised touch and great for them to chat to people who were not coming on to the reception.
By the time we got to Charlton House it was dusk and very romantic with all the candles lit. Carolyn and Phil had some Champagne with their guests and then sat down for dinner and just before they went in we did some twinkly photos in the half light – my favourite it the one of them with the stairs in the foreground:
