A couple of weeks back I headed up to Thornbury Castle, one of my favourite wedding venues, for Alexandra and Dan’s wedding. Alex was getting ready at her Mum’s house in Old Down, which is only a five minute drive from the castle so really handy! The girls’ hair and make up was well under way when I arrived and Alex seemed pretty calm which is unusual!
Over at Thornbury Castle, guests were arriving and I had a wander around while people were chatting. The castle is a really nice setting for a wedding at any time of year but I think the Autumn is particularly colourful. The Virginia Creeper is so lovely; gorgeous colours all the way through from red to green and such a nice background for photographs. The ceremony was in the Tudor Hall and it looked very romantic with all the candles – very atmospheric. Afterwards, as it was fine, everyone had drinks and canapés on the lawn before sitting down to dinner. As the nights have been drawing in so much recently and it’s now dark so much earlier, after dinner I spent a little while with Alex and Dan doing some twinkly night time shots, which I love doing. Here are some favourite images from their day:
