The last few weeks have flown and I am a bit behind with my blog as a result – coming up are Maria and Alistair’s wedding and Elsa’s portrait shoot. First though, back to Jo and Ian’s wedding a few weeks back at Wick Farm just outside Bath. Jo got ready in a lovely little cottage in nearby Norton St Philip – a favourite with our family because of the gorgeous countryside walks around there and the ancient George Inn. Jo’s cottage was just along the road from the George and a great little place to get ready with only a short drive up the road to the barn. Her sisters were on hand to help with getting ready and make up while Jo’s Dad found an armchair to read his speech through in peace and quiet!
Over at the barn I met up with Ian and the boys and had a wander around while guests arrived. They had got a good stack of brollies ready as we were forecast some showers during the afternoon but it was still dry at that point and the barn looked lovely with Jo and Ian’s wild flowers and decorations. After the ceremony we went outside for a little while but then the heavens opened so everyone headed back inside for some drinks and canapés. Luckily the weather did let up a bit later on and Jo and Ian and I nipped outside to take some photos of the two of them together. I always think the other little outbuildings at Wick Farm are perfect for couple shots and are a really romantic rustic background; a look I really like. Soon it was time for the meal and speeches and the flower theme ran through to the tables which were set up in banqueting style, something I have seen more of recently and which I think people like as it’s more like having a big dinner party. After the meal, Jo and Ian had asked everyone to play joke Mr and Mrs and there were some creative and witty answers which got Jo and Ian chuckling. Later on in the evening, guests had coffee outside and we managed to get a group shot of everyone on the terrace before the light went. Here are some favourite images from their day:
