A couple of weekends back, just as this gorgeous Spring weather was arriving, I photographed Alison and Paul’s wedding at Thornbury Castle. It was a very small intimate wedding with just Ali and Paul and their ten children and granddaughter – so a proper family occasion and a really lovely day. Ali and Paul weren’t concerned about not seeing each other before the ceremony, so to make the most of the daylight we had decided to do a few family photographs in the castle grounds first before they got married. When I arrived, they were all dressed and ready (which is pretty unusual!) and had been having a great time during the morning – Ali and the girls had enjoyed a lovely pamper so were relaxed after massages and manicures – what a nice way to prepare for a wedding! I also had a wander with just Ali and Paul to do some couple shots in the old castle garden. They then had their ceremony in the Library – a wonderful room for intimate weddings as its very cosy and has a lovely atmosphere – and afterwards we all went upstairs for drinks. Here are a few of my favourite images:
