On the bank holiday weekend I photographed Kelly and Charles’ wedding at Priston Mill near Bristol. I actually started out in town at the Bristol Hotel, where Kelly and her Mum and Sister Claire were chilling out in a room overlooking the waterfront and having their hair and make up done. There was a street musician outside the window playing pretty chilled out music and it was a really nice relaxing background! Kelly, being a very sensible bride to be, had got 2 bottles of Champagne on the go – and some of her friends popped up to her room to have a celebratory glass of bubbles with her and a chat – what a nice way to spend the morning before your wedding!
After spending a while with them, I drove out to Priston Mill on the look out for some fields that still had hay in on the way, as Kelly and Charles were quite keen to have a few pictures of the two of them together in the fields. I found the perfect field a couple of minutes up the road from the Mill and then went down to meet up with Charles and his entourage of leading men! Guests arrived on a couple of buses which made things very easy and Charles and the guys had a great time greeting everyone and chatting. We retreated inside during a small rain shower but it didn’t amount to anything and I was soon back outside waiting for Kelly to arrive.
Despite being a bit late due to her taxi getting lost en route, Kelly arrived still looking relaxed and really excited to get on with the day. They both seemed to enjoy the ceremony and the readings and afterwards tucked into Champagne and canapés with their guests on the lawn. Kelly had booked a saxophone player – who was really good and I loved watching him as he was so into his music – great to photograph. Later on, I took Kelly and Charles up the road for a few shots in the hayfield and then we went back down to the barn for dinner.
Here are a few favourite images from their day:
