Yet another stunning bank holiday weather wise and a trip over the Mendips near Bristol, for me down to Wells and Westbury Sub Mendip for Jemma and Will’s wedding. I arrived at Jemma’s Mum’s house in Wells where the girls were getting ready and the marquee was being set up. I can’t think of a much more perfect garden for a marquee and it had even been designed around a beautiful fountain which Jemma had arranged to be decorated with flowers and floating candles – quite a centrepiece!
Upstairs the girls had got stuck in to the bubbles and there was a real air of excitement while everyone’s hair and make up were finished off – although Jemma managed to keep amazingly calm and chilled out!
Over in Westbury, as I drove past the pub I saw the boys all outside having a pint before church – a very English sight if ever there was one! Will was also quite calm and was having a good natter with his Best Man and ushers before wandering over to the church.
Guests soon arrived on vintage green buses and not long after that, the girls and Jemma in a lovely cream Rolls Royce. Jemma and Will didn’t stop smiling the whole way through the ceremony – possibly apart from while the registers were signed when Jemma’s bridesmaid Angela sang for them and there were quite a few tears and tissues around the church!
Afterwards, we stopped off at the B and B where Jemma and Will were staying which is an idyllic spot and has beautiful views towards Wells and spent half an hour or so taking some shots of the two of them. We then drove back to the house where the party was in full swing and guests were tucking into Champagne and canapes.
During their meal, Jemma and Will had possibly the best act I have ever seen at a wedding; singing waiters who had been serving everyone drinks, surprised everyone with a fantastic medley of French, Italian opera going around the tables and singing and in one case, jumping into their lap! It went down a storm and they brought the house down!
Here are a few of my favourite shots from their day:
