Last weekend I photographed Maria and Toby’s wedding in nearby Upper Swainswick – a lovely spot just above Bath with wonderful views.
I headed over to the Bath Spa Hotel first thing where Maria and her family and bridesmaid Karen were getting ready, before driving up to the village and trying to dodge the raindrops!
Maria must have a lucky streak though as about 5 minutes before she arrived it stopped and the clouds cleared a bit. After the ceremony, as Toby is in the army, guests were treated to a wonderful Guard of Honour from Toby’s friends in the churchyard, before heading off to the marquee along the road.
The village is very pretty and has a couple of great spots for photographs, so Maria, Toby and I spent a bit of time taking some relaxed shots of them before we joined their guests.
Perched on the hillside with fantastic views our over the valley and decorated really creatively inside, the marquee looked amazing and, as Maria is from Austria, a huge tiered Sachertorte made an amazing wedding cake (take note all fellow cake lovers, you can get it mail order from Vienna!)!
Here are a few shots from their day:
