A few weeks back on a balmy September evening, I headed up the road to a favourite local spot; the Pig Near Bath. I’m so lucky it is on my doorstep as I love everything about it – the delicious food, the wonderful setting and of course…the cute little pigs in the garden!  It makes a perfect venue for a special celebration, a stunning backdrop for photographs and, with the private dining room, you can have an amazing experience a little bit separately from the rest of the hotel.  What’s not to love?!

The Holland family and extended family had a really lovely treat of a celebration for Jan and Dave’s 50th Wedding Anniversary and wanted to have some special photographs to remember it all. It was actually Jamie’s and my 13th anniversary in August this year and 2003 already feels like a pretty long time ago so a pretty much lifelong marriage over 5 decades….wow…incredible!  When I arrived everyone was already having a lovely time exclaiming over the beautiful photography  ‘washing line’  Clare had created.  What a fun way for the whole family to look back on half a century. We did a few relaxed family portrait photographs in the courtyard and then, over dinner, there was a mixture of a lot of fun, laughter and catch up chatting that a family can only have once in a while when everyone is together. Precious times. I enjoyed just wandering around and capturing what was happening.  I also loved the round the table card games and way the children got involved too – it all made for great pictures.  Huge congratulations to Jan and Dave  (two very lovely people!) and a big thank you to Clare for asking me to come and take some photographs of the family for you all – I hope the images will be a lovely reminder of an incredibly special day.  Here are some favourites:
